No winter blahs here, just fun classes with lots of friends. Check out our new classes in yarn dyeing, wet felting and soap making! And of course lots of other requested subjects. Get ready to have fun learning something new! Please contact the store @ (801) 373-5193 to register for any of the classes that strikes your fancy!

Join us for a fun evening and help us add new yarns to our line! We will talk about the wonders of cotton and why it is perfect for Utah summers, and sample 6 "delicious" new Berroco cotton and cotton blend yarns to see which ones you like best. There will be tasty food and each participant will use each of the 6 yarns during the activity to start a fun corkscrew scarf in knit or crochet. Your input will decide which of these yarns we will carry. Participants receive the 6 yarns, corkscrew scarf knit or crochet pattern, and a packet from Berroco full of fun promotional materials and patterns. Space is strictly limited so register now! 2nd sock syndrome is real. The cure is to knit your socks 2 at a time! Hava shows you the magic loop technique and now a pair of socks is one project instead of two! Tuesdays, Feb 8th, 15th, 22nd, 6-8pm. $35.00 plus supplies.
Keep going! Join Hava and learn to do Brioche in a flat knit piece as oppose to in the round. Students will complete a 2 color shawl. Saturdays, Feb 12th, 19th, 26th. 10-Noon with homework. $35.00 plus supplies.
Be the master of Brioche stitch and complete this shawlette, using flatwork, increases and decreases, 2 color and lace. Hava gets you there with no tears! Saturdays, March 12th, 19th, 26th, 10-noon with homework. $35.00 plus supplies.
Bites of unspun fleece worked into your knitting create a fun colorwork design on the outside and a fluffy, warm and cozy fleece lining on the inside. Begin the project of your choice and learn the thrumming technique with Bobbi. Students will choose either slippers or mittens as a project. Saturday, Feb 12th, noon - 2pm. $55.00 includes project kit and pattern.


Kathy teaches this demonstration class. Learn how fats combine with lye in saponification. Included is your choice choice of a soapmking kit to make 20 bars of soap at home, or 10 bars of Kathy's handmade soaps. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2-4pm, $65.00. Includes all supplies.


Create your own yarns from fiber. Bobbi teaches you to spin yarn both on a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. Learn the skill, try various wheels and fibers and open up a whole new world of fiber art goodness. Wednesdays, Mar 2, 9, 16, 23. 6-8pm. $75.00. Includes use of spindle, wheels and all supplies.
You have learned to spin yarn, now what? Bobbi will introduce you to new fibers and techniques including various plying techniques. Learn to adjust your wheel settings for the result you want. Students bring a wheel and 2 bobbins about half full with single ply yarn, or use one of our wheels (check in advance so you can spin your samples). Wednesday, Feb 23rd, 6-8pm. $30.00 includes all supplies.
Tweak your wheel and drafting techniques to spin yarns worthy of lacework. Bobbi shows you draft and tension exercises to give you more control over the yarns you produce. Prerequisite: can comfortably spin and ply yarn. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 6-8pm. $30.00 includes all supplies.


Hava opens up the world of harness loom weaving with this comprehensive introductory class. Students learn to warp a loom, read patterns and will complete 2 woven projects in class. Class meets twice a week: Tuesday, March 8, 15, 22, 6-8pm, AND Saturday, March 12, 19, 26, 2-4pm. $95.00 includes supplies.
Band weaving is an art unto itself, as simple or as complex as you want to make it. Learn to use the inkle loom and complete 2 bands, all in single workshop! Victoria teaches warping and weaving on the portable, inexpensive inkle loom and your next fiber arts adventure has begun. Class fee includes all supplies and use of the inkle loom. Looms are available for purchase. 2 different classes: Feb.8, OR Mar. 8, 4-8pm. $40.00.


Make a felt bowl from unspun wool fiber. Shape the wool over a mold, apply hot soapy water and friction to create a sturdy felt fabric finished piece. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 6-8pm. $25.00 includes all supplies.


Dye your own merino yarn in this much anticipated class. Learn some basic color combining rules and go for it! Choose the colors and hand paint an 8 oz. skein of worsted weight 100% superwash merino yarn with acid dyes. You will take home a completed, very wet skein of yarn. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 6-8pm. $40.00 includes all supplies.
Sock blanks are knitted tubes of sock weight 80/20 superwash merino/nylon yarn ready to dye. Use dye to write a message, make stripes or an ombre, or paint a picture. Then unravel the blank as you knit your project creating a whole new design! It doesn't have to be socks and there is no need to wind it into a ball first! Do you knit socks (gloves, mittens) one at a time? Choose the single knit blank and you will have one strand of yarn unraveling as you knit. Do you knit them 2 at a time? Choose the double knit blank and 2 strands unravel, creating a pair of identical, hand painted socks ( gloves, mittens)! Students will leave class with a completed, very wet sock blank. Thursday, Feb 17, 6-8pm. $35.00 includes all supplies.
