SWARF: A swarf (sweater/scarf) is a great wardrobe addition and once you have one, you’ll want a bunch more! Over the head with a long panel in front and a shorter one in back, the swarf passes as a full sweater under a jacket, without the bulk! Easy to make with bulky weight yarn, with this class we are offering a “dye it after you knit it” option. Use the undyed 100% superwash merino yarn, Mega Merino, by Raven Frog, and you can dye your finished piece in our inhouse dye studio for free! Or, use any of our great bulky weight yarns and have fun as Kathy takes you through this clever design. We have some self striping options that will make a stunning swarf.... Or, you know.... make 2! Saturdays, March 16 and 23, Noon-2 PM. $25.00 plus supplies.

TOP DOWN RAGLAN SWEATER: A great first sweater project, and the whole process is made seamless (see what we just did there.... seamless!) under the expert tutelage of Mary, who has written no less than 7 pattern books on this very subject. Create any size sweater with any weight of yarn and master the top down, one piece construction that you will love forever. Wednesdays, Mar 20, 27, Apr 3, 10, 6-8 PM. $35.00 plus supplies: enough yarn for desired sweater, circular needles appropriate for weight of yarn chosen, stitch markers.

WEAVING

FOUR HANDS SCARF:
Perhaps you have heard of clasped weft weaving, the fun technique done on a rigid heddle loom. Two yarns are linked around each other to create a pattern as you weave. A variation on a theme, in this class we are going to use a clasped WARP to start a beautiful scarf. The weaving couldn’t be simpler, but it is the warp process that makes this project distinctive. Using 2 different self striping yarns, Bobbi will get you set up and you will warp a scarf that has one yarn at one end and a different yarn at the other end. Class members will help each other in the process that really does go better with 2 people working the warping of the loom, hence the name “4 Hands Scarf”. Class fee includes 2 skeins of the beautiful Uneek dk weight self striping yarns, and a kettle dyed Raven Frog Mini Merino skein to use to weave the project. Students will warp the scarf and be ready to weave by the end of class. Bring your own rigid heddle loom (the Cricket is perfect), or use one of ours. Store looms must remain at the store. Saturday, March 16th, Noon-2 PM. OR Thursday, March 21st, 6-8 PM. $85.00 includes all supplies and use of loom (if desired).
